Fascinated by director Vignesh Raja’s earlier movie, Por Thozhil, I rushed to watch KARA on the very first day. I stepped in, expecting a summer special super sundae with the right blend of goodies like engaging music and stunning visuals. What I experienced, however, was a sundae that went wrong in its experimental stage. It was neither the good old falooda nor a refreshing fruit salad, and certainly not Gen Z’s trendy banana split. What is this new fancy?
Dhanush and the food business? His character’s *Idli Kadai* venture is now followed by a quest to establish a canteen. He seems jinxed by food.
Theni Eswar, with his alluring visuals, is the cherry on top. G.V. Prakash, while working on the background score, seems to have forgotten to work on the songs. So, what was good? Popcorn, mini samosas, and popcorn chicken. “Now, which part of the movie is this?” you might ask. No, you get them at the food counter. Buy them and walk in to kill time.
KARA? An ice cream that melted and turned messy.
