If Pa. Pandi was for Gen X, NEEK is a romedy that captures the vagaries of Gen Z relationships.

This marks Dhanush’s third directorial venture—and he nails it. Backed by a GV Prakash musical, the song Golden Sparrow is already making waves.

The film packs in everything Gen Z loves: parties, crushes, breakups, patch-ups, booze, destination weddings, public displays of affection, a light take on infidelity, and, of course, sacrifice.

A modern-day princess and the pauper story unfolds between a foodie and a chef who fall in love. What follows is predictable, but undeniably enjoyable.

The generational divide adds flavor, as Gen X’s perception of Gen Z’s choices brings several light-hearted moments to the screen.

Mathew Thomas steals the show, delivering a standout performance that anchors the narrative. The cinematography by Leon Britto is pleasant and adds depth to the storytelling. The strong supporting cast and detailed artwork also deserve special mention.

NEEK is a moonlight stroll worth taking.
A charming exploration of love in the Gen Z era.
